This would indeed make a good boss theme. I usually like the way orchestral battle music sounds, and this one is hardly an exception. There are only two issues I really have here: 1) It sounds slightly disorganized if you ask me, and 2) The melody at around 00:49 struck me as rather inconsistent compared to the rest of the song. Otherwise, it's a very solid composition. I encourage you to keep up the good work.

TheDoomrider responds:

Hey! glad you liked it! And If I may "counter attack" or explain those 2 issues so that you can understand my point of view in making this track.

1) This song is actually VERY organized compared to what I usually do, this track was made for someone else's project so I couldn't go totally crazy :D but I always strive to have big dynamical changes through my songs, I'm not the biggest fan of tracks that kinda just linger. And I like to put in small melodies here and there that can be discovered with repeated listens. All music I release sounds exactly as I want it to sound.

2)The "Inconsistency" that you feel is probably the big dynamic changes that I like to do. I always try to give several dimensions to each track in order to get more of an epic flow of change. start a track in one state of mind, then bring it to another dimension and then BAM! bring it back again :D I love that in music, it keeps me and hopefully the listener interested. My music is always created with the intent that it can and should be heard as a stand alone track as well as fit the game it is meant for. I focus on being original and not follow rules set by others and making music that I myself wish to listen to, and if other ppl can enjoy what i create then BONUS!!

This became kind of a long response so i just wanna say: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to say a little about how I work :D

This is definitely NOT trance. It sounds more like chillout, trip-hop, or even ambient. Clearly downtempo, to say the least. Still, I do like it - it makes good listening music. Might be a bit short, and the bells are kind of repetitive, but otherwise, you've done a good job for only 3 hours worth with a demo version of FL Studio. Keep up the good work. ^^

decoyultimatum responds:

:P lol i did put it in trance didnt i
this song is anything but trance for the most part there isnt a single dance beat in there and it isnt up beat at all. ahh well i wonder what i thought i had it in.
i plan on adding some variation to the bells so they are not as repetitive. i dont think i will extend the time any though i had enough trouble making it this long and someone is going to remix it so ill leave that to him

Intro synth is annoying; might simply be too loud, though. I also think the beat could have kicked in a bit sooner. The windchime doesn't fit with the driving nature of the rest of the song. The intro melody repeats for too long. Maybe this sounds a bit critical, but that's my honest opinion. Otherwise, nice work. Keep it up. =)

Incidentally, that composition of mine that you posted a review on... it was *intended* to sound stupid, which is why everything sounded so off.

Kasperkain responds:

Never the less, it was a bit odd to intentionally post an intentional "stupid" piece of work onto newgrounds. I was simply letting you know that your "Intentional stupid song" Actually wasn't stupid at all and with a little work it could have been awesome.

But back to your review. Yes I know the chime sounds a little odd for the song, But I like chimes so I put it there. As for the into being too long, I didn't really see that as a factor but now I see what you mean, I'll have to make the next one shorter. And yes it was way too loud, I most honestly agree with you there.

It got a bit odd at around 1:19, but it's forgivable.

ChasingPresence responds:

snare triplet :/ I think it's cool, but everyone has their opinion. Thanks for the review!!

Yet another great composition, as expected of a great artist. I personally found that it's a tad disorganized compared to some of your other compositions, but overall, it's still very solid, and doesn't really detract from the technical competence with which it was produced. I'm not as well-versed in video game music as you are, but am I correct in guessing that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3 had homages respectively at 1:30 and 1:55?

NemesisTheory responds:

Thank you! It was definitely a challenge making this because of the source, which was rather horror-ey, that may have aided to the disorganized feel you got from it. I don't feel that way about it myself, but maybe it's because I am waaaay too familiar with the source material to notice, hahah. xD

Nope! No sonic in here! :D Although now I'm sad that that I didn't include that. It maybe would've fit... Hmmm. Next time!

No reason for good music to go to waste indeed! This is a terrific little piece of video game music. The only thing that let me down a bit was the ending. Still, I might try take a stab at composing something similar to this. Keep up the good work!

TheDoomrider responds:

Thanx! and I will ;) Never will I stop composing great music, and it is always appreciated when someone can enjoy what I make :D

Overall, this is one of the more listenable songs I've heard on Newgrounds. The guitar sounded a little bit fake, but that was just about the only issue I had with it. Good job; keep up the good work.

Painkiller87 responds:

I know it sounds a bit fake, problem is I don't have the appropriate environment to record real guitar, so I write all my stuff in Guitar Pro after i try it out on guitar, then I simply import all tracks into Fl 10, Also I have an older version of realguitar from musiclab so that might be why it sounds fake. thank you for your feedback.

The opening synth/piano (whatever it might be) is slightly too loud in some spots. Also really repetitive - while that by itself isn't always problematic, I took issue with the fact that it didn't feel like this song was really going anywhere after a certain point. Nonetheless, it's definitely a lot more listenable than some of the other stuff I've heard on Newgrounds, so it gets a 4/5 from me. Keep it up.

TwentySixHundred responds:

Thanks.

Eh, not bad. Doesn't exactly sound like a "King's Relic" to me, mainly because of that odd instrument that kicked in at about 00:15. I think it was rather loud and rough-sounding compared to the rest of the composition. Also, that short section around 1:37 was rather unexpectedly loud in my opinion. Not trying to be overly critical here, just offering some feedback. Do keep up the good work.

Zicorn responds:

i do agree with you there... ill work on that in future projects

Doesn't sound like dubstep to me. More like downtempo (ambient?) or breakbeat. Nonetheless, it's pretty good. A tad repetitive, but not such a big deal. Could try making it a bit more atmospheric, though, maybe by adding in some background strings or something of the sort. It could also could use a little more buildup and breakdown. Nonetheless, keep up the good work.

KoMoBeats responds:

Alright man, thanks for the reply. I'll try adding more strings to it.
